Indianrider

Indianrider here. Glad to become part of this forum.

I bought the R51 as soon as it was available to the public in August, 2016. Thus, mine is stamped Charlotte, and the serial number seems to be a low one.

I carry this gun and like it better than the other 59 I own. My mantra is, "No ugly guns", and this one leads the pack of all my non-uglies. My rule is, "No plastic guns", and this one complies almost 100 percent.

The retro, quasi-Walther look really sets this gun apart. I added a Crimson Trace trigger guard laser and a pair of buffalo bone grips. Then I sanded the slide and frame to give it a battle-worn finish.

I shoot several different 9 mm metal pistols that I own, and the R51 is the most accurate.

But it misfeeds once in awhile, meaning I have to always carry my Sig as a backup. I want to get to the bottom of these misfeeds and solve it once and for all. I believe I will learn a lot about this problem and this gun in general from members of this forum.

I am also seeking a metal trigger that does not wobble. So I will be searching this forum to see what if anything anyone has found or perhaps made at home to replace the wobbly plastic trigger.

Will talk with you on the forum. Thanks, Indianrider.

Blackie,

We got you surrounded! Come out with your hands up, or else we will feed you to the gators!  No, not really!  :) :)

My bad on the OP's handle. It should be Indianrider. I am assuming that is in relation to the old Indian motorcycle. My humblest apologies on getting it wrong OP.

Yes, I bought the grips from the Keefers. Nice look, good grip and perfect fit.
I am thinking about rough sanding the raised ridges just a touch to give a bit more grip traction.

[/quote]It's Indianrider. I ride an Indian motocycle. Motocycle is what Indian called their first bikes back in 1901, so I call mine a motocycle.

Thanks. No big deal. It is in relation to the Indian motocycle I ride.
