Good Mornin fellow R51'rs,

Sitting here looking out at the 1st snowfall this year in good 'ol Virginia.

New to the pistol (just picked it up last week).  Been reading and watching videos about it for about a year and decided to take the plunge.  Prices are now very reasonable, got mine for $236 all in.

Went to the range and put 120 rounds through using Blazer 115's and some homemade 124 BBI coated black bullet.

It ran very well, only issue was racking the 1st round about 2x, I ran many strings at 7+1 and had no hangups.  It is a little snappy but very controllable and as advertized less muzzle rise.  Also love the feel, weight, size and the fact that the frame is 7075 aluminum.

Watched the Remingtom video and field stripping was no big deal at all, I really don't know what everyone is complaining about.

Overall no buyer remorse and very satisfied, looking forward to a few more range sessions, cleanings, and breaking it in.

Welcome from SE Texas!  No snow here.
The R51 carries very well too.  All of the rounded edges make it comfortable and easy to holster. I especially like the grip safety because I can holster it with my thumb on the back of the slide and not press the safety as I holster it.  I don't like holstering a gun with the trigger active, unless it's very heavy like on a revolver.

Welcome from north Louisiana! We had a little snow back in November, but nothing now. The R51 has served me very well as a carry pistol. I love it. But if you haven't experienced the take down process yet, you will find out why we don't like it. You need three hands. Or at least two very strong ones. That spring is tough! Glad you like your new pistol. Hope it continues to run well for you! Enjoy the snow!

Welcome from Arizona. I agree with the field-stripping non-issue. I actually enjoy tinkering with the R51 and find most other pistols boring by comparison.
