Interesting. Glad to finally see a positive review! Unfortunately though, OKeefe's  positive review of the gun may be a little too little too late. Sadly, the cows are already outta the barn on this one. Too many bad reviews by folks all over the internet who have nothing but wildly inaccurate, negative assertions on what this gun is or should be. Since folks are persuaded by the opinions of the majority, the R51 may take years (or may never) overcome its troubled past. Only time will tell.

Ignorance is bliss!  That means the price will remain VERY inexpensive, so that you can afford two of them.  I have found a local place here that sells them for $299 with a $100 Remington rebate.  So for $199 you get and R51.  What's to complain about???

Nobody is complaining. Hey, I love the low prices myself! Am looking forward to adding another to the collection. That's fine if everyone else thinks they are trash. Let them! Like you said, that means lower prices and more for us! I'm cool with that! It just won't be good for Remington.....that's all.

I am looking for a good deal on an R51 Smoke!   I would like to handle and shoot an
R51 from Alabama.   Mine is also from the "Queen City"!

If you run across a disgruntled R51 owner, direct him/her to this forum.   If enough of us keep praising the R51, maybe we can over come
the trolls and wannabe experts on other forums.

What happened to the Smoke guns?? Special edition or something? I was looking at buying one, but they ran out on me before I could buy one. So far, I haven't seen anymore released.
