Hi All,

Joined the Forum to hear what real R51 owners had to say about Remington's R51.  Seriously considering purchasing an R51 but want to know real life experiences with the pistol prior to buying.

 Tom,
Welcome to the forum.   You came to the right place.   Most of us have sorted out our
problems with our Magazines,  so if you have a problem, ask away.
The pistol itself is a joy to shoot and eats just about anything commercial.

After reading several posts regarding magazine issues, I'm a bit confused.  Is it necessary to trim 3/16 off each leg of the mag follower?  Unless I read it wrong, some have had success by just loading 7 rounds and then just letting the loaded mag sit loaded for a week or so.  Please help.

Only if you are having problems.  If you are not, leave it be.  :)

I have been reading about magazine springs and it seems even the experts do not
know what goes on with springs.   According to some,  magazines can be left loaded for
years and not lose tension.  On the other side, they say only leave them for a few months.
