Has screws for the grip panels, # 3163*** from NC
Fit and finish is fine.

I just got one from Bud's.. it was made in Charlotte.. runs fine So far including 7+1 loading.
That's good to hear. Is your R-51 the $215 one from Buds?
Are the grip panels held with removable screws or rivets?

Just got an email from Buds gun shop saying my R51 shipped today. I'll pick it up next week.
Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your new R-51
Which one did you buy from Buds?

That is a great price for a R51 at Buds.
I believe that variant has the rivets to hold the panels secure.

Numrich Gun Parts sells just about all the spares (parts) for the R-51
I would have to drill the rivets, add 4 screws and 4 lock rings and hopefully
not damage the panels.

Having big mitts and arthritis's I would pass that job off to a gunsmith.
If we can confirm those rivet holes are threaded to the original panels screws
I might be a player.

Jake, some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen were in the AZ desert.  Used to live in Yuma.
Yes sir they are something to see that's for sure. Summers are hot but wife and I get any outside work done very early in the morning.

I apricate all the feedback on my question. I'm going for another one.

Seems like a really good deal, how far does that viewable dot reach out?
15-20 yards?

Has anyone noticed any difference or quality with their R51's between the two plant locations.
I have one R51 from NC and it's a good performer no problems.
Thinking about getting another and putting it away.

After installing the metal trigger, have there been any issues with trigger reset?

R51 General Discussion / Re: R51 wood panel's

Some of my pistols (1911's included ) give a better grip with a flat wood profile. For me it's all about how well I can get a firm purchase on the handgun. Here is a link from a couple years ago that shows the R51 with wood grips, they almost look like a inlay so that might work for me.

I voted other, if I use the over hand method it's medium
if I use the sling shot method it's heavy

I had the same problem.
I just did a screen print, filled in the blanks and mailed it off.
