General Discussion / Re: Remington Faces Default

Remington is owned by the Freedom Group, they may save the brands for a while, but profits are more important than product quality IMO.

Agreed, had the same problem and sanding down the follower a little did the trick. Also disassembled the mag and filed off about a mm from that weird upper lip that causes rounds to hang. Have shot around 700 rounds since then with zero malfunctions. No idea why Remington releases the handgun like this. If they can't properly build a magazine, they should hire Mec gar or another reputable mag company and eliminate the issues. Other companies do that, no idea why they haven't gone that route.
Is there a photo in the forum that shows the mag modification?

OK, then please delete my post, I thought you were equally concerned about not be able to rack with a full mag. :)

Let me suggest this, get some machinists blue, or use a black magic marker to coat your top round in the magazine, insert the mag in the gun,  Rack your slide, stop when it wont rack, remove the mag, look at the top round to see if has had the marker had been scraped off.  Then you know something is hitting it.  Then coat the underside of the slide inside where the most likely interference is happening, insert the full mag again, rack the slide till it stops, remove the mag, and look in through the mag well with a light to see if you can spot where the marker interfered with the top round.  Or you can disassemble the gun to look at the underside of the slide.   Go from there.  The marker can be removed with plain rubbing alcohol.

If the spring is in the wrong position, it will lock the slide back every single time.  This is a documented issue.  The spring popping out is a new one, it must not be held in very well. :)

I tried posting a photo and could not, where are the instructions for posting a photo? Thanks.

I believe you have to have the photo hosted somewhere else, i.e., Photobucket for example, and then use a link to post it here by using the Hyperlink icon up above the third smiley face at the top of the box you type a message in. (The world with a little page of while paper in the lower right.)
