I haven't tried steel cases, but my R51 uses any commercial type of 9mm. It is one of the pistols that I shoot the best. I carry with Hornady.

I know, I know....tooling can assist those with special needs but really, it doesn't have sound that difficult to disassemble and assemble an R51.

I use the upside down method of reassembly. Just make sure the ejector is positipned properly to enter the slide. The R51 is my favorite pistol.

Installed my metal trigger last night....followed the instructions that came with it. It was simple! Didnt remove all the trigger wobble but it is metal!

I would like to know the level of difficulty installing the metal trigger. I already had two gunsmiths decline the opportunity to install mine. I am getting ready to try doing it myself....but my R51 is my best shooting pistol and I dont want to screw it up. Any advice? Thanks!

My R51 shoots flawlessly and I am more precise with it than any other of my pistols....I carry it. Takedown and reassembly is simple.

Fired a sig p320 subcompact and my r51. The R51 outperformed the sig. It will be a shame to see the r51 design fade away.

I went to the range today. My R51 functioned flawlessly and out performed a SIG P320. I think Remington is making a huge mistake pulling the plug on this fine firearm.

I received my trigger. Looks well made. Service was fantastic. Installation instructions included. I too need a roll pin punch and will attempt installing it myself.
