I have not fired Smokey yet, as I am waiting for a new mag from Big Green.
When the pistol arrived, one mag was great, the other was FUBAR.  For you non
military types that means SNAFU.   :)
As soon as I get the mag, I will take Smokey out to the range and
check her out.   Hopefully since it came from Huntsville, my fears will be
unfounded.

Send it my way, I'll shoot it while mine is down for maintenance ;D

Not to worry Blackie. She will work. It won't be her fault if something happens. Just that POC magazine.

Blackie,

After you posted that your nosedive problem moved to a known good magazine with just a follower swap, I took a closer look at my mags. Although both my mags don't experience the nosedive issue, I think they could easily start with more use. Notice the poor fit between the follower and the front of the mag? Also, the poor fit between the follower's side grooves and the raised channels on each side. This makes it very sloppy, and too easy to push the follower down in the front.

In a feeble attempt to correct the mag problems, Remington added a raised ramp to the original follower but failed to correct the fitment problem which I believe to be the root cause.

Thoughts?

Funflyer,

Also of note. The ramp doesn't do a bit of good to correct the nosedive problem because the root cause of it is the tab bent inward on the front of the magazine. As far as fitment of the follower goes: how could any designer worth his salt, pass something off like this as acceptable? I think it is time for someone on here to put a 3-D printer to use, and start making ones that will fit properly. A lot of problems would probably be solved if we could get a follower in there that doesn't wobble around so bad.

 R51Fan, FunFlyer,
Remington needs to find another method of restraining the follower.
I am having a fit trying to fix all these mags.   Out of 8, I only have 5 I trust.
The two that came with Smokey (6 and 7)  I have not tested on the range yet.
And the new one coming from Big Green has not gotten here yet.
We need a new follower.
