Guys/Gals,
The clamp I have been using to hold the barrel on my R51,
2 Pack Irwin 58100 Quick-Grip 1" Spring Clamp,
May have injured my wrist.  I got the smart ass idea of using the clamp for
exercising my grip..  As of today my wrist is swollen and sore as all gitout.
I am going to the ER tomorrow and find out WTF.   More to follow.
Just for info.
Learning to shoot left handed now.  Cannot even squeeze the trigger on my R51
right handed.

Cold pack and cold beer may help.

Actually Vic,
I tried a cold pack and a Jim Beam and coke.   Didn't help the wrist but did wonders for my insomnia!   :<)

Sirbrian,
Glad it works.   Mine does too,  point of my post was, old farts like me could hurt themselves by over extending on old muscles exercise.
Good idea, on my part, bad execution.

Blackie,
I finally bought one of those clamps.  (2.95 at Walmart free shipping).  Holy Cow is that little thing strong.  Helps considerably.
Thanks for posting about it!

What clamps are these that you speak of? Does it come with the cussing and swearing option?

My clamp (fingers) does...

No, seriously. What clamps do you speak of?

My pair of clamps (hands) was trying to hold the barrel forward in the slide so I could re-insert the Pedersen block except my clamp slipped on the grease that I applied, and the barrel came slamming back full force into my index finger and gave me a nice blood blistered finger tip. Excessive cursing and the expenditure of a Son of a B**** tool flung across the shop were immediate side effects.

Teardown is not an issue for me, but putting it back together is the bear. I al2ays manage to lose grip and the barrel ends up pinching my finger against the block. Thus causing me to work the slide and maneuver the barrel with a finger that is already screaming at me. The contact surface of my clamp is not grippy enough to hold everything back. I have some rubber tape that should work

Pat, Made by Irwin model 58100.  As Blackie indicated by his injury it is very strong for its size.
