My R51CT with its Cross Breed holster.

With what little I know about anodizing aluminum, I would guess that the "smoked surface", hardening is automatically a bit thinner.  As I said, the darker color sort of portends a thicker, more durable finish in my mind.

Possibly, not not necessarily so.  The black color is from a dye, not thickness or hardness.  The same is true for the smoke, but a different dye.

(Metal finishing is my business.  In fact one of my customers is anodizing Remington frames.)

I've got a friend who is a Remington certified Armorer.  Apparently they've got some rock solid NDA's and are very happy with their own Engineers.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

"NDA" ??

Oh, there certainly is more than enough friction when that top cartridge is jammed up tight against the bottom of that block.  That's why trimming the follower pretty much fixes the problem; because, before it gets trimmed, the follower is jammed up tight against the bottom of the mag when 7 rounds are inserted.

I am finding a number of holsters, but none for the gun with a lasre!

I do have a new laser coming but not until next month.

I will have to send it to one of these, if I dont find something acceptable by then.

Cross Breed makes several.  I have one of theirs, and it fits my R51CT perfectly.

I have a set on my R51.  They improve the feel of the gun in my hand some, but not enough for it to be a comfortable shoot with a lot of ammo at one range visit.

Now, what I really want to see, for the R51, is someone to come up with a pretty colored titanium trigger that is designed to fix that side to side wobble and a likely also, titanium instead of aluminum barrel bushing.

Fwiw, that barrel bushing is chrome plated steel - at least it is on mine.  It was one of the changes that was done to the Version 1 on its way to becoming Version 2.

The laser was "close", but not quite perfect, but using the sights, it just cleaned all the paint away from the center of the steel plate.
Now, as I checked it tonite, the laser is off by a foot in about 8 feet!
Don't yet know what is going on there!
Might be an installation problem, as it came with it installed.

Now, I want to find a holster that really fits, accepts the laser mounted one.  The present leather one is softening up and makes re holstering a pain!
I think what I want is a leather or neoprene back and a Kydex shell, single, canted, pants clip.  Talking IWB of course.

My CT was off a bit, too, from the factory; but the adjustment screws brought it right in.

I have the Cross Breed holster for the R51CT, and it fits perfectly.

I'm going to have to take a close look at mine.  I don't remember seeing any o-rings when I changed the grips.

And deep cover, the RM380 of course, that is coming as well.

For a CC .380, I would not give up my CZ83.  It shoots everything well and accurate.  Buffalo Bore +P ammo for CC.  Not the first snafu, ever!

It's a shame that CZUSA stopped selling them.

Blackie,

Cabelas sounds like Dicks.  I purchased a shotgun from them a year or two ago.  Same BS with the Form on their computer.  Then the store manager had to come, inspect and sign off on it.  Then the manager had to take the shotgun to the check out counter.  After checkout the manager had to walk it out the door before he would hand it to me..  Totally nuts and the result of their ambulance chasers running the show.  I'd sure never buy a hand gun there!

I just received an email from Big Green.   In response to a request for a manual for disassembly of the R51. Their reply as follows.

" Sir, no we do not offer such a manual , only the owners manual . We do not recommend breaking the pistol down any further than what is  offered in the owners manual . Thank you ."

Blackie

Did you really expect anything different?  I wouldn't.

That sloppy side to side movement of the plastic trigger is just one more thing I don't like about this pistol.
