Welcome from SE Texas!  No snow here.
The R51 carries very well too.  All of the rounded edges make it comfortable and easy to holster. I especially like the grip safety because I can holster it with my thumb on the back of the slide and not press the safety as I holster it.  I donít like holstering a gun with the trigger active, unless itís very heavy like on a revolver.

I agree that the smoke gray model looks very sharp.  Would like to pick one up myself.

Welcome from Texas!  Let us know what you think of the R51 when you get a chance to shoot it.  I have really enjoyed mine much more than other semiauto 9mm pistols.

My standard 9mm handload works very well in my R51.  Itís a 115 grain Xtreme Heavy Plate Concave Base bullet over 4.3 grains of Bullseye at 1.150 OAL.

N82 Tactical makes a good iwb holster that fits the R51 with laser.  Itís the ďCompact Slim With Trigger Mounted LaserĒ model.

Welcome from Texas.  Let us know how your R51 is working.  For that matter, a range report with your original model 51 would be interesting too.

It looks like the tab is very close to the leading edge of the feed ramp on the barrel. If you modify the tab, make sure the front of the bullet will not hang up on the underside of the feed ramp.

Is your LE ammo hollow point or round nose?  Hollow points always are more likely to hang up on my magazines.

What did you use to polish the front of the magazine?

Donít know about the karr mags, but the glock 43 springs I got from Ghost Inc.  (3 for $7.95). Work very well. I clip off the bottom has a bit of a hook and is the 14th coil...the new factory ones Rem sent me had13.  The new mags they sent me also  had exactly parallel lips the thousandth.

I just tried installing the same springs (+15% Glock 43 springs).  So far so good running with 6 in the mag and 1 in the chamber.  Still tries to double feed after firing the first round  when I try 7 +1, but Iíve resigned to the R51 being a 6 + 1 gun until Remington redesigns the mags.

My reloads are about the same length as the DNL that you measured. I found the problem to be the mag springs are not strong enough to push the nose of the bullet up as the bullet drags across the indentation on the front of the mag.
I have recently installed some mag springs made by Ghost Inc for a Glock 43. They are the +15% strength version spring.  It has 14 coils so I had to clip off one coil to make it work in the R51 mag.  So far it is working.  Havenít had any rounds hang up with about 100 rounds tested.  Will see how it does long term.

Welcome from Texas!  I hope the Remington factory in Huntsville comes out healthy from the current challenges.  The R51 makes for a nice concealed carry gun.

Welcome from Texas!  The R51 certainly belongs in a Remington collection.

Welcome to the forum! The ergonomics of the R51 and metal frame are two major reasons I also bought mine.  I think you will like how it shoots too.
