Very nice to see this forum again! Was afraid it had been gone for good. Much useful information here, thanks so much! Best of luck!

Me, too. Looks overall and 'hand feel'. Just a cool retro looking gun, which is what the old Remington outfit was counting on. Too bad it didn't work out, but this site is really helpful for anyone who wants to keep, and likes, the R51.

Nice to see some activity on this site. It was pretty quiet for a while.

BTW, I was stateside Army 1965-67. Easy to make rank in that era, they had so many enlistees coming in!

There was lots of good info on this site; it's getting a bit long in the tooth now, not a lot of posts. IMHO, if you get one of these pistols, (I have a Huntsville), just use it to shoot, and unless you're a "gun tinkering nut" leave it alone as far as after market parts go . That's just me; be happy with the trigger it comes with, sure, it's not a technical whiz-bang target thing, but this is a devil to disassemble, at least for me. I like mine, got the after-market wood grips, and have appreciated everyone's comments that ever posted here. Thanks to all! Just my personal take. Have a great 2022, all.  :)

This site has been pretty slow lately. I thing the interest has waned somewhat, maybe a lot. But there has been good info here about disassembly, tips, after-market items to help with assembly, etc. There's so many small, high capacity pistols coming out all the time, it's hard to keep track. I have a Hunstville, and like it's design, but it's tricky to strip and re-assemble. Good luck!

I'm just glad I bought a 2nd Gen, not knowing anything about the recall, etc. Again, lots of good info on this site. Good luck!

Yes, and Biden just forbade further imports of Russian ammo, just as we all imagined. Good to see some posts on here, it was kind of dead for a while.

I have the same 'wordy' affliction, and touch-type. Don't have the same cool cars, though! Thanks.

I have found it interesting, that the smaller pistols get, the more people want to add huge sights, extended magazines, etc., etc., thus making them bigger and more clunkier than ever! It's a trend across all mfgrs.  :-\

An auction in Lancaster County, PA, has coming up this weekend (9/18/21) gun auction, an original Model 51 and a current R51. One can go on line to PA Auction Center, and look at the photos. You can bid on line or "live" in person as the sale is taking place; they often have bidders on phones. Check 'em out even just to see what they sell for, you can see realized values after the sale when they post the results. The owners are Amish, it's in East Earl, PA.
