One of my favorite LGS's recently dropped Big Green because of their pricing policies.

I'm pretty sure it means removing the barrel from the pistol and dropping a round into it to make sure it seats to the correct depth. It makes a "plunk" sound... Nothing to do with my user name, btw...

I second the Ruger ARX - super accurate, low recoil, and devastating on soft targets. As I said in another thread, the only weird thing is the little triangular holes they leave in paper. I use the .380 version of ARX in my PPK and Sig P238 as well.

At 50 feet, mine is right on with a "combat hold" - i.e. putting the front "dot" on top of (i.e. covering) the target. It kinda makes sense that it would shoot a little low at the "normal" 7 yards, which is where I assume you're shooting(?)

I just took a look at mine and I think you could file the front sight down and re-do the dot. In fact, you could probably file it down to a post and just paint it white.

I've never had the problem you're having (and mine is an NC frame, too), but I guess a lot of people do. Have you tried locking the slide back, inserting the mag, and chambering a round and then topping off the mag so you have 7+1 and then firing it? This is probably a better way to load it anyway...

Mines a Charlotte, too, and it has had over 500 rounds through it with very few failures - one or two in the last 400 rounds or so. Shot it with reloads on Saturday with no failures of any kind.

I use Ruger ARX and have had no problems, but then again, I have had very few problems anyway...

I use Ruger ARX ammo as my carry in both my R51 and Sig P238. It works great in both pistols with nary a bobble in either and is more accurate than any of my other ammo, although I don't shoot a lot of it 'cause it's kinda pricey and I handload. If you shoot paper, be prepared for some funny-looking holes, though! It makes little triangles instead of circles...

I just "plunk-checked" my reloads and they are perfect... You might have a lemon barrel(?) Not sure if it makes any difference, but I bought mine right after the Gen 2s came out and haven't had any of the problems I have seen people talk about on this forum (after about the first 100 rounds).

Hmmm... I haven't had any trouble with my reloads at all... I load Xtreme copper-plated, 115gr, over 4.7gr of W231 with a COL of 1.15 inches. What do you load?

I've been shooting Xtreme bullets (115 gr) with no problems...

No offense, but why don't you just live with what you have? The R51 isn't a target pistol and the trigger is perfectly fine for the defense role (for which this pistol is intended). Not sure what the big deal is...
