Howdy!
« on: June 05, 2018, 01:24:28 PM »
I bought one of the original R51s and eventually sold it back to Remington.  Now I have a gen2 R51.  It works pretty well, but not flawlessly.  So I hope to learn a few things....

I'm a retired IT professional from Texas.  I'm a hand loader for handguns.

This looks like a very good (active) forum and I'm happy to be here!

Welcome aboard! Always happy to have yet another member added to the community! Shame you sold your Gen1. You could have an "original" example for collecting purposes years down the road. Oh, well.

Welcome from Arizona. The Achilles heel of the R51 seems to be the magazines which is a shame because Remington had to have known this during testing. Hopefully we'll see some good mags being made by some reputable companies soon. The 1911s also seem to be plagued with mag issues but thankfully there's plenty of better choices available for them.
