Been using a "Gold Star" kydex for about two weeks.
Not as comfortable as the returned CrossBreed, ( if only they would put the belt clip right i the center, on the kydex itself), it would be a treiffic and comfortable holster!

But they dont offer it that way!
And seemed completely aware of their problem, but maybe too proud to fix it!

Now, today the Theis holster showed up.
Not as finished or quite as perfect fit as the CB, but much more useful.  Put it on, holstered the gun and forgot about it.  Now thats good!

The G S was too over designed, it had been engineered to work every where.  Right or left handed, appendex, side carry, small of the back, etc!

But the kydex ended 1/2 inch short of the rear sight, both sides, no matter how you set it up.
So, the top half of the gun had absolutely no holster material between the gun and your body.  It works but isnt very comfortable.

BTW, gareds2009, Thanks for the tip on the Theis brand!

I may well.try to modify the Gold Star a bit, glue some leather to the back possibly, after removing or reworking the left hand boss that bulges out into your side when set up for right hand carry.

You're welcome, Chokejug.  Glad I could help.

Check out Thesis Holsters (https://www.theisholsters.com/).  They're custom made and the hybrid IWB one I got fits my R51 with laser like a glove.  Real comfortable to wear, too.

eBay store "Dan's Gun Room", seller "bettya5238".  Magazine was new in an OEM blister pack.  Thanks for the call advise.  Guess I get in an e-mail rut.

R51 General Discussion / R51 initial experience

Got my R51 a couple of months ago.  Here's an e-mail I sent to Remington:

"I just bought a R51.  I am not particularly happy with it's initial performance.  I did disassemble, clean, and relube before first use.  Couldn't get thru a magazine without multiple FTF or FTE.  Used new Agular 124gr ammo.  Out of 50 rounds, I only got one magazine string without any problems.  After first session I cleaned it well with a spray cleaner and then sprayed it well with CLP and let it sit over night.  After wiping it down and reassembling, it seemed to run better, but was still having 2 or 3 FTE and some FTF per magazine.  Looked to the internet for solutions.  The R51 Pistol Forum had some good info (thanks lklawson and Texas-Mark!).  I took my dremel and polished the magazine feed lips and the barrel feed ramp.  The barrel also had some burrs at the beginning of the chamber which I smoothed out.  The last 2, 7-round magazine loads I shot all ran thru perfectly.  I hope it keeps shooting well because I love this little pistol!  It's weight, feel and accuracy are all what I was hoping for.  Initial reliability needs to be worked on.  I think you guys need to do better finishing of critical parts to solve those problems.

Anyway, I notice you guys don't offer R51 magazines on your website.  How does one go about getting additional mags?  The ones I see on eBay all look to be Gen 1, which I don't want."

I've gotten no response from Remington.  Have found a Gen 2 magazine on eBay.

After another 200 rounds downrange I only had 1 FTE and 1 FTF.  I felt confident enough to use it for my CHP class live-fire.  30 rounds at 7, 5, and 3 yards produced essentially 1 ragged hole.

Hi Guys.  Got my R51 a couple of months ago.  Information I've gotten from this forum has helped me greatly in my decision to buy it and then to get it shooting well.  I'll expand on my experiences with it in a future post.
