I find it interesting that the R51 Owners manual mentions dry firing only in the note on page 20 where it says "Do not pull the trigger ("dry fire") while the Slide is removed."

The term "snap cap" is not used anywhere in the manual.

It looks like Remngton has done a lot of redesign work before releasing the Gen 2s.

I just put one on backorder yesterday thru a local gun shop. I don't know which distributor he ordered it thru, but they did accept the order. I guess that means they're in production.

My latest check with Remington about the reintroduction and got this response from them on 10/23/15:

We appreciate your patience as we continue our efforts to re-launch the R51. Currently we don't have a time frame for the re-introduction but our Huntsville R&D center is working to have it back on the market as soon as possible.
