Looks like he can get more because he's got 8 pairs in stock now.

Yes, I just ordered a pair ...  Very nice and reasonably priced.

Sadly, I dont see anyone selling Remington branded wood grips anymore.

There is a guy on ebay selling the Remington wood grips.  He had 10 pair but is down to 4 pair.

It does, yes, both of my R51's do.  I read a post on this along with an explanation and a suggested fix that included filing the edge of the pocket.  Haven't attempted it, yet, but plan to at some point.

Found it:  http://r51pistol.com/r51-general-discussion/backstrap-safety-'crunch-pop'/

Why buy a R-51 Pistol / Re: More than one R-51
March 29, 2020, 07:54:49 AM
Purchased a second R51 from Bud's last week; at $199 the price was too good to pass up, and I wanted my son to have one.  Haven't picked it up yet, however ...  With the impending social unrest (as lots of people seem to think), the normal 15-20 minute wait at our local FFL to get the Fed's approval is now taking two days.  Now, if I could only find ammo that's reasonably priced.  :-(

Back in stock at Bud's, though the price has increased to $281 ...

I ordered a second R51 at $199 just before they ran out at that price.

I could have but, the countersink would have been too deep for my liking.  So I ordered these 6mm screws from Amazon ...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F34NFHS/

I spent hours searching the Internet for black anodized M3.5-0.6 screws, either torx or allen head, but had to settle on these; I spray painted them flat black.  Lots of suppliers carry M3.0 and M2.5 screws, but not M3.5.  Apparently very little demand for them.

If anyone is in need of these screws, and you want to send a SASE, I'd be happy to send a set; I'll never use up the 100 I ordered.

Thanks, and agreed on the stock panels ...  These grips add 4mm (5/32") to each side, for a total width of 30.5mm (1.2").  I find the grip much more comfortable and secure.

After seeing what wood grips are going for - and I understand the high cost because of the time it takes to make a set, I made my own out of a scrap piece of oak ...

R51 General Discussion / Re: Where are you

I live in Sandown, NH (southern NH), and am new to the forum.  Had my first R51 delivered yesterday.  Except for the trigger, I'm highly impressed, and don't find disassembly/re-assembly difficult.  The Gen 1 issues notwithstanding, I'm convinced the R51 will be a collectable classic.
