I feel this pistol will start gaining ground now. It is the best shooting 9mm I own. For its size it's still a pleasure to shoot compared to some others of similar size. The dissembly and reassembly issues can be remedied with practice. Heck, my wife can field strip the thing and she will not even touch a 1911 to break down.

Hi John,
I am from the North Alabama area. I have had my R51 since November, it was supposed to be a Christmas gift from the wife and it was, but I told her it needed checking out before it went under the tree. So, all told I have about 700 rounds through mine and not an issue yet. My wife loves it so we may get another for her.

Hi Dave! Alabama here.

Mine is still running flawless no matter the ammo. I believe there is no reason sales should not take off at its price point now. The one thing that holds it back is Military's YouTube review when he purposely assembled it wrong and fired several rounds. It gives a false impression. And as far as assembly. This thing is ridiculously easy. And to those having issues. Try wearing mechanics gloves to hold the grooves on the barrel. But good Lord unless you have severe arthritis there is no excuse. My wife can disassemble and reassemble for Gods sake, lol. This is a very cool pistol that's far out of the norm and that's a good thing!

The review MAC did when the 2nd gen first came out is what caused the bad press for this handgun to be the popular thing to do. I have watched his video a few times and I think the whole thing was BS with that review.

Sootch had 1 malfunction out of 600 rounds and still wouldn't recommend the gun for carry because of all the other BS reviews.  I mean come on what is it going to take ???? Mine is supposed to be a Christmas gift from the wife but I went ahead grabbed from under the tree and put 400 flawless rounds through it with FMJ and HP.....It's sitting wrapped back under tree, lol

Well, I picked one up last week but it's supposed to be from the wife so it has to sit under the tree until then, can't wait!  They tried to sell me a NC made but I had them go in the back and grab a Huntsville made. Thanks for the welcome!

I live in the Huntsville area so I had to have them go in the back and grab a Huntsville vs a NC. They have pumped out more R51's quicker than I thought.  My serial # is H0043##R51. It's supposed to be a Christmas gift from the wife so it has to sit under the tree until Christmas Day. Can't wait!

Hi,  considering a R51 for eventual everyday carry. Looking forward to researching around and taking info in as much as I can!
