I missed something. Someone here said that Remington doesn't recommend using original magazines with the new version except as range backups....or something to that effect. I believe it, but I'd like to know where it was said. I didn't notice it in the manual, and I had just bought 3 NOS mags, which I haven't tried yet. So, does anyone know where it is aid, and if it is a potential warranty-voiding issue, etc.

someone reported that a tec told him that the new magazines and the old magazines were compatible. You could use the old magazines in it but he recommended only use at the range.

Thank you. They visually look the same at a glance. I'll be trying both gens tomorrow.
I haven't had any problems using Gen 1 mags in my gen2 R51.

The follower and baseplate are different.
