Title: Redneck disassembly tool
Post by: Seamus55 on April 20, 2020, 04:52:37 PM
For years my wife has been telling me that I have lost my grip. The first time I tried to disassemble my new R51 I had to agree. .

I found a box of Adel Clamps left over from a aircraft project.  1/2 inch was a perfect fit. a bolt and wingnut and it was ready to test.  The rubber liner holds the clamp tightly in place without scratching the barrel. I soldered the bolt in place so that I wouldn't lose it.

Sorry no pix. The files are too big.

I agree... that's pretty redneck, but if it helps you, that's all that matters.  Did you just do a field strip or break it down further?

I have seen a video where a guy was using a little mini 3/4" anvil clamp.  47₵ at Home Depot.

I have used the spring clamp and it works good.
I also like the adel clamp idea  ;)
