Title: Nickle Plating and an IWB holster no belt needed!?
Post by: Katieboots on April 03, 2019, 11:47:45 AM
The retro design of this pistol just begs for a high polish nickle plate and while the actual cost of the plating will be almost double the pistols value it'll definitely be a one of a kind I'll have till it's my turn to leave this plane.

Having said that however I know nicking an aluminum frame is more difficult than a steel frame and not every place that does plating will bother with aluminum; so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a reputable shop that will mess with the aluminum frame and pass on the info to me.

And as a woman I very seldom ever wear a belt, yoga pants and leggings are my every day wear generally, so I'm wondering if the member might suggest and IWB holster that would be able to utilize the waistband alone or even not at all???

Thanks!🙂

This site really needed some more input from the women's perspective! Welcome!

The Sticky Holster by Remora doesn't even have a clip. It relies on the friction of the holster material. I have not tried one but they seem to be very popular based on what I've read on other forums.

I like and use remora holsters...but with a belt. I think that the weight of the R51 would not be conducive to yoga pants only....not that I ever wore yoga pants...😜

Remoras and sticky holsters are an option. I have some but never really liked them. The downside is there's no positive reference point for the location or position.

What you want is probably more of a belly-band. I doubt the elastic waistband by itself is going to be able to securely hold a gun.
