I just signed up so here is my R51 story.
I was intrigued by the looks of this pistol but had read all the negative reviews so I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I purchased the pistol when Remington had the $100 rebate and I had a $75 Cabelas gift card so I was into the pistol for so little I thought I'd give it a try.
The one I bought had the Charlotte frame and without the CT laser.
I took it home, cleaned it took it to the range and loved it. I was using a S&W Shield in 9mm as my EDC but the R51 felt better in my hand and shot great. From day one I have never had any issues with the pistol.
My eyes aren't as good as they used to be so when Remington did another $100 rebate I bought one with the CT laser from Bud's. When that one arrived I took the CT off and put it on my original R51 and put that one in the safe unfired. This 2nd one has the Charlotte frame as well.
I suspect Remington may discontinue this pistol so yesterday strolling through Cabelas they had one with the Alabama frame and CT laser on sale so I bought that one. Took it home and put it in the safe.
I just ordered a threaded barrel and will be getting a suppressor to play with next.
Bottom line for me, I love the pistol and it's still my EDC.
