Hello,
I have personally owned an R51 for about a year now, I like the pistol but I just want to learn to mitigate some of the feeding issues I have had in the past is why I have joined. I feel like you all appreciate the pistol for what it is unlike much of the gun community.
Hi Phred; A local quality high volume gun shop that sells a lot of Remington stuff hasn't carried the R51 for a long time. I think many dealers are staying away from them because of all the problems that were reported. My own R51, bought when they had that $100 rebate last year, had no problems. Yet I see many guys do. I guess half the fun of being a 'gun guy' is ironing out kinks, etc. I'm sure this forum has helped many out in that regard. I'd like to know how the R51 is doing sales-wise nationally, though. Regards, Springfield Art.
Welcome aboard! You will not find a bunch of griping on here about the little pistol. You are right, we appreciate it for what it is. The rest of the gun community is slow, but they may be starting to catch on to it......at least I like to think so. For the most part, either they have functioned well out of the box for us, or we have made them work. Either way, I think that most everyone on here is a satisfied R51 owner. Glad to have you!
Welcome. I believe a lot of the bad press with the R51, and much of the Remington offerings for that matter, are from people who have never touched one. I'll admit my 51 hasn't been 100%, but other than one magazine's occasional glitch, it's been damn close. I also have a RM380, two R1 1911s and an 870 from Remington which all have been outstanding.
