Title: R51 Gen1
Post by: remman on April 16, 2018, 09:31:24 PM
Hello guys,

Does anyone here still have their Gen1 R51?

There are several differences in the Gen1 and Gen2. Gen1 has metal trigger, no pinned on sights, R51 stamped further back on slide, and internal differences.

The Gen 1s honestly were complete screw ups generally speaking. Everything from sub standard machining work, to simply neglecting to remove burrs from internal parts. There were a few (and I mean a few) that functioned ok. Those were pistols that were hand-tuned and turned out. The mass produced ones were really bad. Thank God Remington has gotten those issues straightened out. The first thing that struck me on my Gen 2 Huntsville gun, is the fine machining work that was done. It is absolutely beautiful! There are a few minor internal differences, but the changes made were for the better. However, if you are interested in a metal trigger for your Gen 2, Engineerpower on here is a genius at machining and design. He even is making barrels which are fitted with an adapter for a suppressor. I think a metal trigger is in the works. If you have a unmolested, original Gen 1 with all the paperwork and box, hang on to it! It could be valuable one day!
