Title: Drop test
Post by: lane87 on January 31, 2018, 12:25:06 PM
OK. So this just happened. My wife was handing my gun back to me out of her purse. I only had it in a remora holster. She grabbed it upside down and it fell out and hit hard on the hard wood floor upside down. The gun didn't fire and not a mark on it. The floor has a bit of a gouge in it though. Lol. So consider the R51 drop tested from about 4ft. Not intentionally mind you.

No. She was really afraid that she could have killed me and felt horrible. I of course was more worried about my new R51 having a gouge on it or something!! Lol. The incident was definitely not intentional, but it shows you just how quickly someone can be killed. I'm sure as he'll glad it PASSED the drop test and didn't discharge!!!!

Me too! Sheesh, that was a close one! You can touch up your R51 with a bluing pen probably. Or, take it to the local gunsmith who does cerakoting and get the slide refinished.

Or, get a spare R51 the next time the rebates are offered

Well, that is two drop tests passed!
Some where on here, I mentioned mine!

Oh yeah, it was in "dedicated holsters"!

The wife and I sort of did the same thing with only a CT pocket holster!
But mine hit concrete in the drive way.
Hit both a corner of the slide and the frame.
Roughed them up enough that they needed a bit of sanding.

Oh. That would suck!! Glad it didn't go off!! Accidents happen so quickly....I think you and I have proven they don't fire when dropped on the rear of the frame Thank God!!
