Has anyone noticed if their trigger resets all the time? I'm note talking about while you are shooting but say like on another gun you are testing the reset point. I have noticed that if I rack my gun and not let the slide slam closed it will not reset unless I shake it or tap it. No problem shooting now but what could the future hold?

Most likely it has not gone all the way into battery, and hence the trigger is still disconnected. "Riding the slide" while racking is never recommended for any gun.
I found this while dry firing, the first thing I checked was if it was in battery. If I hold the trigger and slingshot the slide the trigger will not reset. I have not live fired since finding this I hope to do that today.
I just tried mine. I dry fire it, and while still holding the trigger, rack the slide. The trigger resets fine.
Let us know how yours does when actually shooting.

I have been shooting for 70 years or so, never worried about trigger reset. This seems to be a new thing to be worried about. My policy, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Take the gun out, shoot two or three boxes of junk 9MM, and if it feeds and fires, you are good to go.

I agree to a point that if it shoots fine, don't worry about it. However, trigger reset issues are real, and can be caused by several things. If the trigger does not reset, it won't go bang - possibly when you need it to. If the OPer is slingshotting the slide and not riding It when he racks it, and it's not resetting the trigger, that indicates a possible issue. It may work when fired, because it is getting jarred more, but that does not mean there is not something wrong.
I got bad news the trigger will not reset without help. I can see what it is not doing but would have to disassemble the gun more than I should. I guess I will try and get Remington on the phone.

I know what you are saying, but what I neglected to say was, I check my weapons often for operability. I mostly carry 1911s and consider myself after 66 years of handling
1911s to be proficient in the care and maintenance of them. Some of the newer guns, Above my pay grade, That is why I was really leery of the R51 until it proved itself.
Every time one of our members mentions a new problem, I check to see if it applies to my weapon. So I rely on you guys to keep me posted. And Alive)!
