Hello everyone,
My name is Roger. I am here in the Northeast Ohio area east of Cleveland. Got my 51 about a month ago and hopefully will get to fire it for the first time later today. I am hoping all goes good. The only thing I'm leery of is some of the reviews showing the bullets in the mag nose diving, causing a FTF. I did notice mine doing that in the mag. Hope it doesn't during live fire. I had been waiting since the original release at which time I had made up my mind I wanted one but didn't get it before the recall.

Hello Roger,
First thing, do not try to rack the slide. Open the slide, insert the magazine, pull back on the slide, and let it slam home. We have found that this works well.
Remington, says the gun is not designed to rack the slide. Lock the slide open, insert the magazine, and pull back on the slide, let it slingshot home.

Welcome aboard.
I have friends in the Pymatuning area.
Check out Blackie's advice. There have also been some magazine tweaks suggested by some.
Peace favor your sword,
Kirk
Welcome! My only suggestion is to NOT give up on it if you have a few malfunctions in the first 50 - 100 rounds. I had a few problems at that point but have now had over 200 rounds without a single problem of any kind (using a variety of ammo, btw). Some people think a new pistol should be perfect out of the box (like Glocks) - I don't have a problem with needing a little break-in period... Have fun!
