Sound like Remington is doing the same as General Motors did a few years ago with their ignition switch
instead of putting a $1.00 shaft in it they put in a ten cent part that broke and cost them millions.
Remington put in a cheap trigger, cheap magazines and ruined their reputation and lost millions.  How
could they have been so stupid.  The gun is different and could have been a sensation except for the
decisions made by management.   Sounds like we won't be hearing from Remington again unless they
get someone to run it, that has some brains.

General Discussion / Re: R51 after action report.

I am at 100+ rds no stoppages,  shoots dead on up to 15yds.  Couldn't be happier.  When I get to 300rds with no stoppages
I will use as a carry gun.

R51 General Discussion / Range Results
March 08, 2019, 09:44:40 PM
I went to range today with two pistols a Sig P230 and the R51 Rem.  Fired 50 rounds thru both pistols and only had one malfunction, no it wasn't the R51 it was the Sig.
Makes me wonder are there other Semi-Autos that have malfunctions also.  I don't know of a  Semi-Auto that doesn't have a mishap also.  Anyway that's my opinion.

R51 General Discussion / Re: Trigger work

When I load 7bullets in  magazine and use the receiver catch  and release it so there are only six bullets in magazine the spring pressure goes less on the bottom of the bolt.  So far I have never had a failure to feed or eject when I do this.  When you have a round in the chamber no. 8 and you fire it the pressure of the ejection going across the magazine is almost to much and it pushes the round up against the bolt and drags.  If you polish the bottom of the bolt it may stop the rubbing or with enough rounds ran thru the magazine the spring may weaken and  allow 8 rounds instead of 7.

R51 General Discussion / Re: Trigger work

I would love a metal trigger but I am not the most mechanical adept person around.  I also have another theory on the magazine feed failures. Until the pistol is broken in the bottom of the bolt is rough enough to push the first bullet nose down in the magazine.  I am going to fire at least 300 rounds thru mine but pulling the catch back on a seven round magazine and the catch forward and have it drive bullet number seven forward.  I have done this for 100 rounds and have not had a failure to feed at all.  Anyway that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.  This is a different type of gun and needs to handled different ways.

I want one, the plastic trigger is an insult to any shooter and waste of my time.  I never seen any gun with a bad trigger like the R51.

General Discussion / Re: Breakin rounds needed
February 11, 2019, 08:43:41 PM
I'm only at 50 but will try to get another 100 in this weekend.  The slide open lock with just 7 rounds in the magazine works real well. So that is what I will use until I get to at least 200 rounds  before I try one in chamber and 7 in magazine.

General Discussion / Breakin rounds needed
February 10, 2019, 10:07:40 PM
How many rounds need to shot thru pistol to get it good and broke in?
I fired 50 rds thru gun with a glitch before I ran out of ammo.  Will shoot another 50 to 100 to break in gun.  I hope that is enough.  I enjoy the gun but don't like the plastic trigger as soon as a replacement is available I will change it out.
