Why buy a R-51 Pistol / Re: Continued Sales?
August 26, 2019, 08:53:04 PM
After talking with Remington last week via their website chat, the person did not say anything more than production has been discontinued for this calendar year (2019).  While they didn't say one way or the other, I am not getting the feeling that they will be bringing it back.  That is on my feeling about this.  I have no facts one way or the other.

Zorba,  you are probably correct.  I chatted with someone off of their website who said that production has been discontinued for this year.  So I asked them how accurate the statement of them not producing them any more this year due to inventory being good and the person checked their inventory but did not confirm my statement.  When I asked them about being concerned about service and parts, that person told me that parts and service would be available for a while.  That does indeed sound like the pistol is finished.  That is a pity as it is a very attractive design.

I have seen the postings in this thread talking about the R51 being discontinued and that it isn't on Remington's website any longer. I don't know if Remington has really discontinued production permanently or not.  I will say that I went to their website this morning and the firearm is still available for sale. They want more than $250 for it and that seems reasonable to me as it is probably a relatively modestly produced firearm. They asking about what Ruger is asking for an LCR (Approximately$450).  I hope they do continue to produce the R51 as I am hoping to purchase one in the near future.

Good Evening everyone.

I am new member who is looking for more information on the R51 so I can decide if I wish to purchase one.  Looking forward to the conversations and your experiences with the pistol.
