Took my R51 to the range last week - and ONCE AGAIN, I managed to activate the ambi mag release from the RH side simply by gripping the pistol. I'm toying with the idea of grinding that side of the release button down flush - anyone else have this problem?

Where/who should I buy additional R51 mags from so I don't get older ones that are (apparently?) problematic?

Just got back from the range.

Bottom line: 1 FTF in 50 rds, 3rd round was nosedived in the mag , I'll try the a bit of smoothing of the "front projection" first.

I've had far worse problems with better regarded guns when they were new - BUT - not this type of malfunction.  I had tried several things that I had read about in an attempt to induce a failure and it passed those just fine, but "random round" in the next to last mag didn't feed and I wasn't doing anything "special" either way.

Otherwise, the gun ran fine. Next time I'll A/B it with my LC9s and see how they compare. Now I get to go clean it...

Like so many others, I've been intrigued by this gun and its ongoing saga. Now it seems that some retailers are starting to "blow them out", at $199.99, how could I refuse?

It should be an interesting saga/experience, I'll see what happens. It'll join my Hi-Point $100 bill "gangsta gun" and my Nambu T-14 in my collection of widely panned (deservedly or not) pistols in "Zorba's gunsafe for misfit guns"!
