I missed the story on Cheaper than Dirt.  What happened?
Immediately after the Sandy Hook murders (less than 24 hours), Dirtier Than Cheap, raised prices on ammo by eye-popping amounts, 5 to 10 times more in many cases, then shadow-canceled many customer's already placed orders, forcing them to try to re-order at the shockingly inflated prices. Then Dirtier Than Cheap claimed they didn't know anything about it. Even when they got caught and incontrovertible proof was shown they continue to claim no shenanigans on their part.

They claim to be an important part of the firearms community, "we support you!" and then the split second they could, they tried to take horrible advantage of their customers.

Dirtier Than Cheap can go get [redacted] in the [redacted] and get a full [redacted] until they are [redacted] for all eternity. If Dirtier Than Cheap disappeared tomorrow it wouldn't be soon enough.

Yeah, Capitalism says that they're free to set their prices at whatever they want, whenever they want. And THIS Capitalist is free to never buy anything from them ever again and to tell everyone he knows what despicable pieces of fecal matter they are.

I have 4 or 5.  Not sure about my favorite.  Probably my Uberti SAA clone in .45 Colt but maybe my Enfield top-break in .38 S&W.

Just found out this week too,- that Walmart stopped carrying 9mm ammo (NM only), and other local sporting goods stores can't seem to keep it stocked,- they've jacked their prices up on it too, so... if you're planning on doing any test shooting in NM, bring plenty of ammo with you, don't try to buy it here
A few months ago, Wal Mart's CEO joined the Boomberg organization and agreed to no longer sell any handgun ammunition or "short barreled rifle ammunition" (whatever that might be) in Wal Marts.  They discounted everything and sold it out of stock.  You can still get 12 Ga shotgunshells and 30-06 but not any "handgun" ammo or .223.

Anybody that bought one of these CT's from CDNN getting bombarded by emails from them? I think I get more than ones from Buds or RK. Looks like they really got some stuff and must be a pretty good sized outfit, prices seem good & I got one this morning that they still have the Lazer for 29.95 in todays add.
.  I have had good luck with them over the years.  Cheaper than Dirt is another good one.
After the shenanigans they pulled following Sandy Hook, I wouldn't buy from Dirtier Than Cheap if they were giving out hookers and free beer with every order.

Hi, just ordered a R51 and need to find out what ammo these pistols like.
Break-in and range FMJ ammo; will it feed steel cased? What works?
Bullet weight; 115, 124, or 135 grain?
Carry ammo; does Hornady Critical Defense / Critical Duty feed well?
I've read the posts on fixing the possible magazine and other possible problems. Good info.

I'm hoping this gun will run reliable enough for me to make it one of my carry pieces.

More questions later.
Mine likes 115gr ball and 124gr Critical Duty.

I have some Remington HP's I need to test.

I strongly recommend plunk testing any ammo before shooting it.  Even factory ammo.  The three barrels I've had have all had a very short Leade.  Probably SAAMI minimum.  Take the barrel out and plunk before you shoot any ammo.  I have some factory fresh 124gr. Winchester WinClean which engaged the rifling when plunked.

I think the trigger is fine.  It could sure teach Glock a lesson or two about how triggers should feel.  :)

There was a member here who was making grips.  I think he had an ebay store.

Personally, I was sad that the wood grips which Remington was offering back during the Gen 1 weren't continued.  I wanted a set.  I loved the color and the checkering pattern.  The custom wood grips which I've seen offered by after-market makers are either smooth or don't have a checkering pattern which I like.

I just know it was in the New York Times, I think Monday 18th Nov. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately, it doesn't help.  I've searched in multiple locations, check law reporting, even googled it.  I can't find anything about a new bankruptcy filing by Rem.  All news stories I find, including from NYT, reference the earlier proceedings.

It would really be helpful if you could link to the story.

QuoteThe co. is being attacked as a test case to try and do away with the protection firearms makers have for subsequent bad use of their products.
Sort of.  Most of the filings in the suit were thrown out because of PLACA(A).  The only one left was an advertising claim.  While I agree that the plaintiffs expect to lose, and that their real goal is just to bleed money, time, and resources from Remington, as well as to access their internal documents through Discovery in order to misrepresent them to the public for publicity purposes... I'm not sure that the suit will be easily replicated nearly anywhere else.

Remington filed for bankruptcy protection today Nov. 18-19th.
I haven't seen the news story yet.  Got a quick link?

There is no official notice that it's discontinued.  The semi-official statements have revolved around "not being produced."  My suspicion is that the demand is low enough that they will only produce periodically.

I love mine.  Shoots great, comfortable, aims easy, and has a trigger that teaches lessons to striker-fired guns.

But it's picky about ammo (has a very short Leade) and the mags aren't "drop free."

A couple of my magazines work with 7+1 and others do not.  When I load the magazines with 7, I can push the stack down farther in the ones that work. I can't determine why some magazines will compress more than others. Seems like the same spring and follower but something must be different.
Check the over-all height of the follower, particularly the length of the legs.

Quote from: Zemo on September 02, 2019, 06:44:26 PMAnd If anybody knows where to find a front sight for the LCP Custom (I already checked Numrich) that would be very helpful.
I'd call Ruger and tell them that the sight came out and ask them to ship a replacement.
