I have a family member who works for Remington. The word I have received is that Remington typically creates work ups, or prototypes. They use these for events, gun shows, and product displays at shot show. They see which items garner buzz and which fail to gain traction. With the grips the word from marketing is they halted production when they had the initial errors with the Gen1's. they did have plenty of them made, as several retailers and suppliers listed them on their sites.

But they now have a few different versions of the grips that are about to come out. No set ETA, but the employee I spoke with said he seen them in his office. And also got to see the new 870 DM, (detachable mag) same basic setup as the classic 870, but with a AR style mag well to attach various sized mags. Will come in the known lineup but now with more camos including kryptec and desert camos.

I also got word that Para Ordinance does not exist anymore. Upon the transition to Huntsville they relinquished their lines to Remington, and now they are all Remington Pistols. The timeline isn't exact on when this news will be made public, or when the R-51's will be hitting shelves again, but it's anticipated to be very soon.

My brother in law is a Remington employee and text me earlier this evening that 2000 R-51's have already been made in the new Huntsville facility. Exact release date hasn't been stated, but when he finds out I will bring that info here.

Gentleman I have some fantastic news, my brother In Law works for Remington and has just informed me this evening that the R51 is coming soon, 2000 have already been produced in the new Huntsville facility and apparently Para Ordinance guns will now have Remington's name on them.

Any further info that I receive I will bring here immediately. But rest assured this word is from an actual Remington employee.

I wanna buy a new one too when they are re-released. My brother and me are friends with a few of the higher ups within Remington and we see them several times a year. I'm going to try to get them to hook me up with some grip panels this year when we see them again. But it might not be until the NRA convention in April

Smithkowitz, I actually am in the same boat as you. I have a R51 and have shot over 500 rounds thru now.

I have shot all different brands and some +P. All of which performed flawlessly. The only issue I had was when my wife was shooting it a few weeks ago and it stove piped one time.

I fully plan on keeping mine since its a early serial.

The reason I ask is that everywhere that I look, I haven't seen anyone post which model it is that they are receiving?
