General Discussion / Remington rifle question
January 20, 2021, 07:30:36 PM
Long shot question but here goes:
I have a Remington model 760 30-06 pump rifle.  For those of you not familiar with this model, it is very similar to a Remington 870 pump shotgun, but it is a rifle. Does anybody know how hard or easy it would be to remove the barrel? I want to send the barrel off to get the muzzle threaded.

I've been window shopping the net for a M1A. Don't really need another truck gun / ranch gun but the M1A just has an appeal to it. I have a Remington 760 16" barrel pump in 30-06 that is my nighttime hog gun, have a nice .270 deer rifle, have a model 92 lever in .45 colt, numerous  22rifles..., an Ar-15 ,,......But I'd sure like an M1A.
Anybody got one and do you like it?

General Discussion / Gun sales
April 02, 2020, 09:30:52 PM
Well the NRA is stating that there were 2 1/2 million gun sales in March 2020 which is an all time record. Gun stores report many sales are first time buyers. I wonder how many of the remaining inventory of R-51's sold?

You might try buds gun shop or grab-a-gun...the R51 is a good gun.

Have you found any CNC plans for the grips?

No have not looked. Figured I'd use the existing plastic plates as a pattern. That's what I did for my Ruger SP101. These in the picture are made from cedar wood.

Many Rugers, Smith & Wesson's ,a NAA 22 mag mini mag. A cap n ball, a Taurus, . My most favorite is  my Cimarron Peacemaker clone 45 colt. By the way, the NAA is much better than a sharp stick when nothing else will fit in your clothing, also as a second or third carry. My most common CCW is the Ruger LCR. Compact, lightweight, powerful enough, and it will never fail to feed. Now the R51 will be carried at times.

Hi I just bought my first R51 (January 2020). Will there be more threaded barrels available? I'd like one just in case a suppressor is in my future....

Mine has screws which is good because I'm gonna make some cedar and mesquite grips. I paid $250 and got two crimson trace lasers in the deal.

Welcome fellow Texan. I can say "me too" to just about everything you mentioned. Been shooting and hunting since I was five. Retired a year ago from 30+ years in law enforcement. I just bought my first R51 and today was my first shoot with it. It runs great. It's gonna be one of my carry guns.
