There's no doubt that there is a Scout memorabilia site; you probably know that already! Or searching e-bay, bet you did that, too! Good luck with your search!

Nah. Just got into other busy stuff. Have the after-market trigger, don't know if I want to put it in or not. Tiny little spring in there threw me off. Thanks.

Thanks for this info! My R51 has been apart for months now, just put it aside for a while. Will have to refer to much information just to re-acquaint with it.

The 'new guys' probably want nothing to do with the R51! Just sayin'

Hey, cool! Thanks!

Relating to high ammo costs; imagine you go to the range, and there's a chromed metal box on the bench, into which you must insert 2 quarters for EACH shot you
take! Fifty, sixty cents a shot. That puts the cost of ammo into perspective. A small
dealer near me just sold 100 rounds of 9mm for $80.00! That's 80 cents per shot, but this is a "panic" period, and much stuff is being bought by people just for "pro-
tection", not regular gun-nuts like us!

You are right; but this pistol ain't comin' back now or ever! I like mine, don't get me wrong, but it's a "tainted" thing at this point. The pistol world will move on from this; there's so many choices out there, or will be at some point. Heard on the radio that the president if mulling over "exec. orders" he can pronounce to address the "gun issue". We live in 'interesting times'!

Not good to have the pinholes. Wonder if the firing pin is too "sharp"? Would have it diagnosed; not safe and it's not a black powder percussion pistol, which you would expect such stuff....

Whoa! Very cool!

Ain't gonna happen; these guns are "dead", and too small for such ctgs. There's plenty of small semi-autos on the market in those calibers...

Yeah, I will; again, this forum seems to have gone pretty cold, but it was interesting for all the input about this pistol; who'da thought so much would be bandied about the R51? That recall, all the proposed alterations and after-market parts, etc. This We'll Defend!

I don't, but in the current panic to buy pistols, my local gun shop miraculously had two or three show up new in box a couple months back, They were gone almost the same day...their current supply of pistols is improving, but mostly the costly high-end ones; anything reasonable goes in an instant. I'm glad I got my little R51 couple years ago; got new wood factory grips for it for $10. recently. Good luck!

They  only had the one. The guy who owns the store does lots of estate and leftover and auction buys, and often has interesting one-of-a-kind items on a rack separate from inventoried merchandise. Left over ammo lots, (prior to the current panic), second hand stuff. Yes, I would have gotten more had they been there. This was a useful forum for a while there, seems to have cooled off as fellows went onto other guns or projects. Thanks, 4 Ghost.

Wow! Today, went to my local gun store after many weeks of avoiding the crowds and lack of ammo & stuff. There on a bargain rack, they had Remington Factory wood grips, new in packaging! Ten bucks! Grabbed 'em right up, they're marked made in USA by American workers! They're really nice looking! Happy 2021 to all.

I don't know, but thanks for the 'alert'. Have you tried
blasting the heck out of it with high pressure air or
some spray can gun stuff? Good luck. My R51 has
been apart some time now, and I need to get back
to studying it and get it operable. It was a project
learning thing that I just let lapse.
