Hey, everyone, details of the Remington Sell-Off can
be found at; rifleshootermag.com. I obviously saw
this in latest issue of Rifleshooter magazine. Thanks.

I don't believe that will happen. I know I wouldn't want to be shooting .40 or .45 ammo in something that small. The design is fine for 9mm, but there's many good choices in handguns designed for the 40 and 45, certainly not the R51.

It's dizzying! Thanks for the info. I'll see if Tom Grisham is on line? Maybe on UTube?

Finding an R51 Pistol / Industry sales
October 06, 2020, 03:41:46 PM
I see where Remington Co. was "sold off" in some way;
Hard to tell what large corporate entity owns various
gun mfg. brand names anymore. I read where Ruger
bought Marlin! Well, as long as we can get good
products! Read up on the Biden plan for gun legislation.
It's an eye-opener!

I ordered one or two items from him some time back, and service was fast. I'm sure maybe he's on summer two week duty or something.  :D

R51 General Discussion / Re: R51's Appear in Showcase

The R51's I saw were/are Charlottes! ($349.95) I'll bet they were sitting unsold somewhere, and they saw the chance to move the out in the current buying frenzy.

R51 General Discussion / R51's Appear in Showcase
August 08, 2020, 12:49:13 PM
A busy gunshop & range I visit here in SE Pa., has 3 new R51's in their showcase. I believe they shunned them once problems arose, but now that there is a huge demand for guns of all types, they magically appeared. I believe the R51 is kind of a "gun nut" product, which is why this site has been so helpful. I like mine, but a new gun owner might be put off by the quirks inherent in the R51.

Yeah, mine shoots low, too.

By the way, all, a report in the paper 7/29 states that Remington is once again filing for bankruptcy...and, a recent effort the sell the company to the Navajo Nation fell through. I know they recently installed a new pres. who had been on the board. It just seems they have unending problems...this could affect future quality issues. Hope it all clears up, this stems from their lawsuits after the Sandy Hook tragedy.

I read recently that Remington's chief guy left, and the new CEO is a guy who was on the Board of the Company, who's knowledgeable and a stickler for Quality Control issues, which seem to have plagued the company recently. Here's hoping this old time gunmaker improves and thrives. I like my R51; it's a pleasure having a genuine metal frame!

I think it's time has come and gone as far as any more great reviews; the pistol is now in the realm of us geeks who appreciate it. The price can't be beat for what the product is. I'll bet Rem management is glad to wash hands of it. But it's really cool to check in this site and read the detailed reports posted by members. It's all good!

The PBS mystery series Frankie Drake, about a woman detective, had her wielding a Remington Model 51 on the episode 'The Aviator', a takeoff on the Lindbergh kidnapping. I didn't see her actually fire it, but it looked way cool being  used to hold a possible suspect. It's 1930's, Model-T Fords, neat costumes.

Thanks for the info on Crapier Then  Hurt. I didn't realize they did that.

R51 General Discussion / Re: Rechamber to 38super or 9x23

This nice little pistol has enough things going on
with it, it certainly doesn't need to be rechambered
for anything. There's plenty of actual, originally
chambered guns out there. It's good that people
are thinking outside the box, I guess. IMHO.

I ordered my trigger some time ago, and the service was great. I'm sure you'll hear from him; this is probably a small sideline of his, to benefit us few, and the wait will be worth it.
