Luv my R51 - unfortunately the only 3rd party accessory outfit, DangerCo, is apparently no more.

They would have had a winner on their hands with the Gen 2 if they had fixed the mags. As it is, I was able to tweak mine for better reliability. Love the R51 with the exception of field stripping the thing - it makes a Ruger Mark 1,2,3 look sane by comparison!

Not since DangerCo went Tango Uniform.

I have never had a problem and I have 3.  Not sure if it the spring, your grip or hand size.  How big a boy er ya?
I have pretty large hands. My late father's were bigger, but mine are still pretty big.

Nope, never had that issue. Is it your trigger finger or middle finger pushing the release?
Its the meaty part of my hand *apparently* - yes, I'm right handed.

Took my R51 to the range last week - and ONCE AGAIN, I managed to activate the ambi mag release from the RH side simply by gripping the pistol. I'm toying with the idea of grinding that side of the release button down flush - anyone else have this problem?

Scales? That's the first time I've ever heard THAT term!
It's generally used by old-timers and 1911 fans.  ;)

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk
Ok then. I learned something new today. Thanx!

As long as you have 3 hands or a prehensile tail.

After I did a bit of "tweaking", reliability went up, although I had ONE nosedive the last time I took it to the range. My point is simply that this problem should have never seen the light of day in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I love my R51 - but for it to ever be able to "go mainstream", Remington needs to fix the nose dive problem and the "8th round problem" - I had to tweak the mags on my Hi-Point too, but I shouldn't have to on a Remington.
