I noticed this issue this morning while cleaning, I can pull the trigger without engaging the grip safety and the hammer will drop.  is anyone else having this issue that you have heard of?  I took a video to demonstrate whats going on and yes before the video I cleared it, I'm limited with what I can do one handed with a phone in the other.  https://youtu.be/oECJpI9pNBY

I'll try again when I get home...but I haven't experienced this issue.  However, I notice that my grip safety protrudes further out than yours.  I tried two different R51s when I bought mine.  They both stuck out about the same distance...but one had a noticeable click when it activated (the other had a soft click).  I bought the one with the louder click (it required just a touch more pressure to activate it).

I've contacted Remington asking about this, and they were quick to ask me to send it to them.  I don't have very good lighting in my shop for the video. but it appears to me it's all the way out I've got more travel with this one then my 1911's and my xd's

I added a second video showing the pistol will fire without grip safety pressed using a primed casing.

I just got a r51, I was pressing the trigger, without the grip safety, then by pressing the grip safety hearing a click of the trigger, without the trigger being pulled, not good

I think I fingered out what's going on, if I push the grip safety with no mag there is a lever that pops out of place that has two little fingers of different length inside of the mag well on the back side.  What made this fun to find is when a mag is inserted the lever pushed back into place and allows the mag to go in. I went ahead and removed the hammer spring and housing  to get a better look.  There is nothing obstructing anything that I can see and the lever in the trigger group that makes contact with the grip safety moves freely also.  I've put the pistol back together, at this point I'm going to wait to see what Remington has to say.

I don't think the gun is safe,
when I saw the grip safety engage the trigger without touching the trigger is not good..............................will call them monday
