I am 68.7 years old, Patron member of the NRA, and I own a R51. I am a part time gunsmith and I want to understand the issues that afflict this pistol. I have been shooting for 57 years, reloading for 40 years and gunsmithing for 37 years.

Really not too many issues.

Of the top of my head, and in no particular order:

• The chamber often has what appears to] be SAAMI minimum Leade/freebore.  I've had 2 different barrels and multiple issues with the bullet engaging the rifling, both commercial and reloads.
• The trigger has some "cosmetic" side-to-side wobble.  It doesn't affect the pull, break, or seem to affect shooting, but a lot of people don't like it.
• The Magazines have had several revisions and several identified issues, including follower legs which are long enough that they need slightly shortened in order to load a 7-round "full" mag into a gun with a cartridge already chambered (7+1) or the bullet hanging on the front lip of the mag as the cartridge is fed into the chamber.

Welcome Ronnie from another native Texan. The action on the R51 works perfectly.  Magazines could use more design work though.
