My new R51

I managed to get to the gun-store today and pick up my R51. Based on some suggestions here I added a Don Hume Makarov holster (it seems to fit fine). I had also ordered a threaded barrel.

I expect it to be just a couple of days before I have time to get out and shoot.

No matter what happens in the marketplace regarding this neat pistol, it's a good thing that an American company developed it, and those of you on this site gave it a go by buying and tweaking and tinkering with it purely out of the love of firearms and shooting. All of you are what the firearm hobby is about. Any experience you have working with the R51 will enhance your general 'gun knowledge' in general, and will have been worth the time and effort. I couldnt say no to an R51 Smoke from Gun pro deals for $219.99. I already own two. Took it to the range and used 115 gr from PMC, Blazer Brass, Magtec, Federal and 124 gr from ZVS. Not a single problem. I use Hornady Defense and they perform flawlessly. In my opinion and experience the R51 has no 124gr preference.

I was thinking I wish I knew this yesterday, then checked and they are out of stock and the price on the website shows $249.00
I ordered a smoke model yesterday from RK Guns (Rural King) as I bought my black one there and they were one of the only ones I found that had them in stock other than Buds but their price as higher and then I would have had to pay a transfer fee. They are still a little behind from the holiday season so it will take a couple weeks to get to my local RK store.
Paid $259.93 as on their website, looking forward to my 2nd one.

Have never dealth with GunPro; are they a good company to deal with? Just looked at their web page and they have the all black R51 listed.

Back to the range today to test the hi viz optic sights I put on my smoke R51. It shot straight so I was very pleased. It fired flawlessly as I have come to expect. Today I tested Golden Saber +P hollow points. No problem feeding and I didnt feel any difference with +P. Get you R51s while you can...prices are low. Dont forget accessories...they seem to me to be drying up.

Ordered one from GunPro last Sat, 1-11-19, got email from my FFL today, Monday PM 1-14-19, that it had arrived!! I don't believe that: their web sight, which shows my order, has not even posted the carrier or shipping NR!

Will know tomorrow ......and will post by evening whether it functions properly or not.
