I wondered earlier here if the R51 was unofficially cancelled since Remington are producing a new subcompact series in .380, with larger calibers planned, in a more traditional configuration.  Personally, I want an R51 because of its Pederson design and if it proves reliable in its second generation, I'd like to make it my carry weapon.
With a full-size Glock and also a SR1911, I am looking for a compact or sub for daily carry.  I am more impressed  with the  originally advertised low recoil/reacquisition qualities and the more "natural" shooting grip and angle,  My ultra-reliable Glock and the classic 1911 have their obvious virtues, but the R51 will hopefully provide sufficient quality to go with its distinctive looks and retro-mod design.
So Remington, for the non-collectors but earnest users like me who are really looking forward to fresh new model in 9mm, please get it right and get it to us ASAP.  (And I've seen the new subcompact .380 and I won't be buying that one.....period.)
