Noticed these a while ago on ebay:

I'm guessing these are leftovers from the gen1's.  Kind of an indication that the gen1's weren't turned into scrap, though I'm guessing a barrel with an unknown round count couldn't be legitimately sold in a new gun.

I wouldn't be surprised if triggers, mag catches, pins, magazine parts, etc.... from the gen1's made it into the gen2's.  I wouldn't think the slide or pederson block would make it as these items were the problem.  Probably not the frame either as the pederson block tended to dig two trenches across the top of the frame, though maybe this could be fixed somehow.

I purchased one of those barrels on Ebay.   I think IKlawson bought one too
they were new Gen 2 barrels.   Mine would not fit into the slide and I sent it back.
Got my money back.

So many guns, so little time!

I saw those also and thought there were too many inconsistencies. The lugs at the top of the feed ramp aren't there on our gen 2s and the machining at the TD pin area is different.

Great observation Funflyer. I thought something was missing, just couldn't place it. How do you do those overlays on your images. I like that feature what ever it is.

I use Paint to edit my pictures now. I used to use an expensive 3D drawing program but since Windows 7 and 10 it's worthless >:(

You're right.  I bought one.  Looks identical to my Gen 2 barrel.  Fits perfect.  Has exactly the same "flaw" that my Gen 2 bbl has: SAAMI minimum Leade/Freebore.  OK, it's not technically a flaw, but it does cause me problems in building reloaded ammo for it.  It is so identical to my "original" Gen 2 bbl, that I, quite honestly, don't know if I have the original or the fleabay bbl installed.  I have the other one sitting at my reloading bench to use for instant plunk.

I bought one of the barrels in the top pic of my above reply. The one with the "ears" at the top of the feed ramp and the non-milled area around the TD pin channel. It has a tight chamber like my gen2 barrel which required a hone and polish to make it usable. Fits tighter to the frame with less fore-aft movement against the TD pin. The ears at the top of the feed ramp were causing the rounds to occasionally jam when cycling by hand but a slight chamfer and polish took care of that. 50 rounds through it without any issues and accuracy is on par with the gen2 barrel.
