I recently bought a re-engineered version of the R-51.

I find it quite reliable in terms of feeding, extraction and ejection, but the accuracy is really dismal.

What kind of accuracy are you guys getting from this gun?  My groups are running 4" to 6" at 15 yards. >:(

What ammo are you using?

Tulammo, Winchester white box, Blazer brass, Blazer aluminum, Federal aluminum, Remington in the green box, and 2 different handloads that shoot very well in my other 9MMs.

All factory loads were 115 gr. and the handloads were 125 HAP bullets over AA5 and some 95 gr Remington bullets over AA2. 8)

Sounds like you've given it a fair share of different ammo.

Went to the range today with a couple of handloads; 110 gr. Hornady .357 diameter XTP bullets with 6.5 & 6.8 grs of AA5.  The groiups are now running 2.5" to 3" at 15 yds and the velocity was running 1111 fps and 1168 fps respectively.

Funny thing is that I slugged the barrel early on and found it to be .355 on the nose.....so why does a .357 diameter bullet shoot better?  I donno.  Maybe just because it is a   little different configuration than the FMJ 115 grainers that I have been shooting?  Perhaps.

My accuracy has been better than all my other 9mm guns. I attribute much of that to the short trigger travel.
