R51 trigger play

Hey everyone,      Is it just my R51 or does anyone else have what would seem like a lot of side to side movement of the trigger?  It doesn't seem to affect accuracy but I've never had a pistol with so much lateral movement. It's kind of sloppy feeling and was like that new out of the box.   Any thoughts?    ....Arlis

Yes that side to side movement is normal for this trigger. Seems a bit odd but does not seem to hurt function... Joe

That sloppy side to side movement of the plastic trigger is just one more thing I don't like about this pistol.

I have been looking for a machine shop that will make me a metal trigger.  No luck so far.

  Well  I'm somewhat releaved to know its not just my R51...  on the other hand I was hoping some one had a fix.    My concern is there's no room for wear... since it's already loose.   I'm kinda surprised Remington put so much effort into the rest of the gun but used a plastic trigger.  Maybe they'll come out with a replacement.  Thanks for your input.  ...Arlis

     Lotsa luck on getting Remington to change the trigger.  Took two years to fix the R51, and they still haven't fixed the magazines.   Some work, some don't.
If I can find a machine shop,  I will get them to make me a steel trigger.  This R51 is a great little gun, just needs some tweaking.
But do not expect  Big Green to come up with a fix.  I  really enjoy it at the range,  I have 5 magazines, numbered 1-5.  I keep notes on each
one to keep track of any snafu's.   So far, only #5 is flaky. 1 out of about 60.

Blackie... thats a great idea numbering the mags. After reading multiple posts it looks like I may have been lucky with the 4 mags I got. 
My son in law got back from Afghanistan about a year ago. Advised that I clean my mags as often as I clean my guns but to spray the inside and
outside of the mags with silicone spray (the fast drying stuff that almost goes on dry). I've been doing that since I got the gun in May of this year. Maybe it helps
maybe it doesn't.  He claims it helps keep residue and grit from accumulating in the mags and assists in dropping free from the mag well.
     Anyway.. if you find some one who'll make you a metal trigger let me know. Either way I still love my R51 and its a keeper!!  Thanks to all who contribute and stay
