I use M-Pro 7 gun oil=http://www.mpro7.com/m-pro7-gun-oil-lpx.html  Makes my R51 action smooth as possible.  Incredible product and their gun cleaner as well.  I know a lot of guys in the military that will use nothing else on their personal or crew served weapons.

Pretty much any decent oil will work.  I know guys who have used 3-in-One oil for 60 years on all of their guns with fine results.  I've tried it.  It works fine.

I know a lot of guys who swear by light-weight full synthetic motor oil such as Mobil1 5w20.  I've tried it with Gastrol Magnatec.  It works fine.

I've known guys who used sewing machine oil with no problems.

There is no magic oil.

Personally, I like using a combination of oil and grease.  The Pedersen Block seems to run smoother on my R51 if I grease it rather than oil but just mine.

There really isn't a need to spend tons of money on specialized and expensive gun-specific products.  Just clean it and keep it lubed.

Peace favor your sword,

Kirk,
you caught me!  I have never used anything but 3 in 1 and Hoppe's solvent  for 70 years.
