Like many R51 owners (I presume), I have been searching for a decent holster... I found one on eBay (a deSantis) that was exactly what I was looking for - it is item number 162510531362 (just search the number in the search bar). Says it's for a Beretta, but I investigated and found out the SKU was the same as the one for the R51 and popped for it. It came today and is a perfect fit. Just tryin' to help!

Plunkster,
Which model beretta?   You just made a bunch of R51 shooters very happy.

The ad says it for the Beretta 84. I checked the dimensions before ordering (in case the SKU was wrong) and they are very close. I should mention that this is for the R51 without a laser.

I bought a holstet in e-bay, supposedly made for the r51. Leather (hard!!), it fit fine but I didn't like the non lined part if it. Then on first try of it (iwb appendix carry) I bent over to pick something up, magazine gets ejected, holster covered and engaged release.

Since then I have found my desantis colt new agent holster fits it better than my colt!! Hammer on my colt when cocked and locked passes the leather flap that is supposed to keep it from gouging you (it doesn't cocked).
The r51 fits it perfect and its lined.

I have a CrossBreed for my R51CT, and it fits perfectly.

I just found one in my old stash, something I bought hoping to use for some other gun, likely the Sig P938, but not sure.  Any way, absolutely no real signs of wear.

El Cheapo, "Taqua". (or something close to that, IWB, make in Paraguay.
No model # stamped any where on it.

But fits about as perfect and anyone could ask for.
Muzzle does extend about 1/2 inch through it, but other than that, A-OK!

I picked up a holster on clearance, the Bianchi Model 100 IWB, size 9.  The package says its compatible with the Beretta 84, Sig P320, and Walther PPK, among others.

I can't say I love it.  The fit is snug enough, but the trigger guard keeps it from fitting in any farther.

I'm not a carry guy, so I don't have a lot of experience, but it seems to me that much of the pistol sticking up that far above the belt line is either uncomfortable or not a good idea or both.

I have a DeSantis Mini Scabbard that I bought for the LC9s and it fits the R-51 pretty well too.

EDIT:
After posting this, I took another look and it fits, but is a little loose due to the difference in the trigger guards.

You can also no go onto Remington's website and they list 7 holsters in right and/or left hand.

I don't know if any of these holsters were designed specifically for the R51, but you'd hope that folks that know what they are doing tried the fit and found it worthy.

I went to my local shop and picked up a Uncle Mike's size 15 inside waistband holster. Couldn't be happier. Granted it was 12.99, but it works, it holds the gun securely, and I can draw it out without taking the holster with it. Love it a lot.

I looked at a bunch of holsters on line the other night while working on a big network upgrade (lots of time wasted waiting for stuff to happen).  Created a spreadsheet comparing dimensions and then collected a bunch of pictures (thanks to wikipedia). It looks to me on paper anyway (actually, on computer screen) that the Walther PPK/Sig 232 is about the closest size and shape to the R51. I also compared the Makarov, Beretta 85, and the Sig 239.

SIG P232         Remington R51
6.6"      Length      6.6"
3.6"      Barrel length   3.4"
1.2"      Width      1.0"
4.7"      Height      4.6"
4.8"      Sight radius   4.6"

So I ordered a Sig P232 sized Desantis Cozy Comfort for $40 off Amazon. If it needs a little detailing, I can always soak it and fine tune it some. If that doesn't work - well, let's just say it won't be the first holster I bought that didn't work out.

Thanks for the info. I am beginning to shop for a holster right now, as I bought my R51 yesterday (it hasn't arrived yet).

BTW: network upgrade? I only ask because I am a network infrastructure engineer; CCNA R&S, CWNA and am studying to get my CCNA Cyber Ops.

Tried the single belt clip CrossBreed.  (IWB Type)
Very comfortable and would be useful, IF one never drew it and then moved about at all!

Once the gun is removed, the off center clip allows the other side to take a nose dive and go below the belt line.  Nothing to do but drop your drawers to reholster!  Unacceptable!
And I dont like two
Clip holsters!

Then a Gold Star, Kydex only.
Works, but designed to do everything.
Both OWB & IWB, appendix, small of the back, right & left draw, etc.
Not set up to insulate the top part of the gun from your body at all.
Master of no position and not very comfortable at all.

The Theis that I ordered, came in last week.
First one that I am really satisfied with.

Think I will find some leather and try my hand at modifying the Gold Star.

The pure Kydex is not comfortable, the full leather crush and are hard to reholster, (almost as bad as that single clip on one end), the single centered clip on the hybrids are the best as far as I am concerned.

Chokejug, I have never been able to warm up to Kydex although I can see it's usefulness. My favorite holster is a OWB crossdraw Bianchi Cyclone for my S&W Model 65 but that thing is way too heavy for me to carry anymore. I have a horsehide AIWB holster for my Ruger LCR with a single offset clip which is fine but I've put on some weight and it's not as comfortable as it used to be. I have a selection of leather OWB holsters that are the easiest and most comfortable to wear but harder to conceal.

I bought the R51 specifically to carry it all the time,  IWB. The cheapo Desantis IWB with loops is probably just the starter to encourage me to stay on a diet and get some practice. I have a fanny pack and a sling bag set up for carrying a firearm too that will work fine.  If the R51 turns out to be reliable enough for every day carry then I will look at spending a little more for a horsehide or hybrid holster.

My first range trip with it will be tomorrow and I have 300 rounds of FMJ and a package of 8" paper plates. I'm hoping for the best!
