To my mind, I wouldn't buy a used R51 because the lifetime warranty doesn't transfer.  Even at a discount, the cost savings wouldn't be worth it.

It is possible that a gun shop has a used Gen 1 pistol that was stamped "Charlotte, NC", but I don't think it is likely.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but for the Gen 2 refurbishments, didn't Remington claim that there were no changes to the frame design and that the existing stock of Charlotte-stamped frames was rebuilt into Gen 2 pistols in the Huntsville plant?

I remember asking, but I don't think anyone has published a report on physical or performance differences between the Charlotte and Huntsville-stamped frames.

SCurmudgeon,
I have a I have a Charlotte stamped frame, I sent the ser# to Remington support, and they assured me it is a Gen II.
It eats any thing I put in it, (after a hassle with the mags)
So, long story short, I would trust a Charlotte frame.

Scur' the "reverse feed" wouldnt  have anything to do with increasing or lessening felt recoil.
But they claim that the barrel lock up/unlock does.
The barrel turns to lock/ unlock.

For me, I thought it recoils more than other nine mms of the same weight.  But then, the trigger/guard batters my arthritic index finger, (has a knob on it), so its likley my personal sensitivity.

There is still a "used" one on Gun Broker!
Starting bid is $399!

Talk about over priced!

Regarding used firearms... I've had good luck with egunner.com   They are somehow  linked to Buds gun shop. You might check their site.  ...Arlis

I bought a new one and registered it with Remington.  All they wanted was the serial number, my name and addy, my email addy and the date of purchase.

Nothing about where I bought it.  If I had bought a used one, I would just register it and see if I got an email saying that it was already registered.

They are just out of their minds!
While I was in Cabelas last evening, they had a used RM380 that they had a price tag of $250 on!

Their brand new ones were 249.99, and a factory rebate of $100 is available until Nov 18th!
