If you will recall I posted a while back about what I believed to be damage to my R51. I have taken photos and edited them with arrows and dialogue, but for the life of me, I can't get them to post. Yes, I have  read Robert's instructions at least 20 times. Any suggestions?

Just a verbal update. The suspected damage was where the ejector pin rides. There is a notch cut into the piece it rides on. It seems this notch is to allow the pin to ride level. When first observed it looked like wear, but after close examination it appears to have by cut by a file, Definitely not precision machining or even precision filing. I wonder if there is some hand fitting of these parts?

The other damage is to the barrel, particularly the outside edges of the breach. They are quite rough and you can feel the roughness with your finger. It appears something is hitting against the edge. I don't see any corresponding damage on other parts. The areas noted are the outer edge of each side. Anyone notice such things with your barrel?

Soon as I figure out how to post, I try again. FYI, I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements to edit and selecting from the file. I have reduced the size. What is the recommended size?  What type of file should it be, gif, jpeg etc?

Thanks, always enjoy reading the posts.

See this post I made. I use tinypic.com.  You do not have to sign up or anything to use it.

You can upload to photobucket. From there you can copy and paste the URL for the image.
Photobucket is starting to go ad crazy, pop ups ect.

So I have started to use Google Photos. Not quite as user friendly as PhotoBucket but no pop up adds.
You must resize the image before uploading to Google photos.
Resize to 800x600 or 1240 x 768 save as a jpg file. View the image and right click.
Choose copy Image location.

While in your post, click on Insert Image. Paste that link between the img tags.

Test image from Google Photos.

Quick and easy image resizer.

Coz,
Have you tried Ad Block Plus?  Works great for me.  And, thanks for the photo tips too.

The only thing I don't like about photobucket is it seems that there is a time limit on how long the pictures stay 'live". All to often I see people who have posted pictures using photobucket a while back and they are no longer viewable. I don't know if tinypic has any time limits, but I have pictures I posted years ago that are still viewable.

I have photos in my Bucket from 2002 that are still active. So I don't think they just go inactive. I think the original poster just deleted them from their bucket.
My only issue with photo Bucket is the adds. To get rid of them you need to pay $14 a year.
Not a bad deal really.
But I had previously paid $9 that was suppose to make my Bucket add free for life.
They just changes the TOS and that deal was null n void.
They should have at least offered me a discount or something 1st.
( may be they did and I missed it)

Any way I will look around and try some others. If I decide that Photo Bucket is worth the $14 I will pay up.
But not with out a bitch fest first. Dems the rules.

I have not. I may try it or an equivalent. There is one add that stops it cold until you click to continue to the site. that one really gums up the works. Three out of five times it locks up fire Fox cold and I need to force a close and restart it.

Coz,
I have noticed a few sites that will shut you down if you are using an ad blocker.  I just do not use Those sites that shut you down with adblockers.

Thanks for all the replies fellas. I'll keep trying. If you have an interest in seeing the pictures, please be patient, I'm trying to do this and a whole lot of other stuff. (Not complaining)  It may just be a few days before I have the time to work on it. Thanks again.

Nu2R51,
I think we all are anxious to see photos.  We have all had our ups and downs with this little pistol, and can't wait to help
you determine if you indeed have a problem or it is just Remington's QC.

.

Maybe so, but I don't know why people would delete them if they have posted them on forums like this. It just pisses people off who Google something only to find the pictures that were originally posted are gone. I suppose if you use it to "store" photos then that's fine. I use tinypic strictly for posting to forums and not as cloud storage.

Nu,

Hi,  You asked if anyone else had noticed wear on the barrel.  In fact yes, After only 105 rounds I have significant wear marks and a burr.  And like you I can't see for sure the corresponding part rubbing.  I too have pictures that I just cannot get to post.  Shouldn't have to send pics to a third party just to import them back to the forum.  I find that my paste button is greyed out when I try to paste between the brackets.  Control V doesn't work either.

I believe the attachment feature is not active. Not sure what you are trying to paste, but it would have to be a link to a picture hosted elsewhere
