Took my new R-51 to the range on Friday (has the laser accessory mounted on it) but neglected to have the laser adjustment wrench with me. It clustered the shots together loosely but about 3" left and 3-4" low - shot at 25'. I've now zeroed the laser and will be returning to the range in the next day or so to see if it can get in the 10-ring. Very nice shooting gun. Tried to load a single round and then insert a full 7-round magazine. It choked on this combination 3 times but I never had a problem when loading 7 rounds and letting it slam closed to load. Time will tell.

Locking the slide back, inserting a full mag and letting the slide slam home works every time.
If I insert a full mag and try to pull the slide back, it stops 2/3rds of the way back. I feel it is a
spring problem in the Magazine. But, I am not a gunsmith. my R51 now shoots anything I
put in it including Win USA Forged iron casings. I am happy with the weapon, and carry it as
a backup for my 1911 9MM Hicap. (I am an old fart, and can get away with wearing a
loose fitting shirt outside the waistband. On some occasions, I use my R51 as a primary
carry weapon.
So many guns, so little time!

I can finally say that I emptied 7 complete magazines with absolutely no problems. Gave the Gen 2 another good cleaning and used oil instead of the small amount of grease of the last time. Must agree with the member that has posted several times that it is BEST to insert a full mag into the frame with the slide back. Then slingshot the slide.  Really pleased with the R51 now !

Lincin,
Glad to hear that "Slingshot" works for you. There is a video on Rem's website that
shows Travis Tomasie reloading, and he does not slingshot. I feel that the R51 he is using
has probably been really worked over though.
